As well as reusable varieties, chemical protection clothing also comes in disposable varieties used to prevent the spread of hazardous substances. The disposable materials used include special high-density polyethylene materials with high barrier properties, wear-resistant SMS (a material made of non-woven melt-blown polypropylene sandwiched between layers of non-woven spun-bond polypropylene), film laminates with superior water repellency or moisture permeability, and polymer coatings with superior permeation resistance.
