Wet Wipers

Wet wipes are cleaning rags made of low-solubility paper or a non-woven fabric infused with an aqueous solution of a cleaning agent such as alcohol. The industrial uses of wet wipes include wiping off oil stains during manufacturing processes, wiping off impurities on electronic parts or precision equipment, and cleaning research facility instruments. Disinfecting wet wipes are a type infused with a disinfectant such as ethanol. They are used for bed baths and cleaning test instruments in hospitals and long-term care facilities, and for cleaning or disinfecting in food processing plants. Wet wipe products come in the form of rolls or separate sheets. Refills are available for both types. Wet wipes designed for commercial use in large quantities are available. Roll-based products come in their own bucket, and sheet-based products are boxed. Wet wipes designed for use with a separately added disinfectant such as alcohol are also available. These wipes are the type traditionally used. There are also wet wipes in the form of wet cotton towels with added detergent.  ▲ Close
