Clean Benches

Laminar flow cabinets are enclosed work benches/devices for doing sterile operations and avoiding contamination in biological chemistry or biochemical research. Besides sterile operations, they are also used for stem tip culture in agriculture, so have a wide range of applications. They are in widespread use for research processes in areas such as semiconductors, fluids, electronic parts and precision equipment. They work by keeping the environment dust-free and sterile by blowing purified air into the workspace. They enable work to be done while avoiding the entry and contamination of dust or environmental microbes, creating a box-like structure. There are several different types of laminar flow cabinets. Some models remove the work bench and have built-in floor-mounted equipment. Some have a separate work bench and body to prevent vibrations from being conducted directly between them. Some come with infrared lamps or similar devices to enable drying on the work bench. Some combine the work bench surface with a material such as acrylic or glass to have a built-in fluorescent light. Some enable venting of part or all of the work bench. Some have a work bench that is partly or totally in the form of a sink with a water faucet attached at the front.
