Hammers / hammer drills (pneumatic) are pneumatic tools to break or cut concrete, rock, and the like. They are powered by compressed air, and a piston in the cylinder repeatedly strikes a chisel at the tip to apply impact to objects. They can perform tasks such as removing rust and paint, deburring, and removing slag and spatter. Ordinarily, an air chipping hammer is called a hammer drill. Also, pile driving can be done easily by changing the chisel. Straight type air flux chippers are the smallest type and lightweight, so they are suited for work in narrow places. Low vibration types are also available. However, using a hammer drill without the chisel pressed firmly against the object results in ineffective strikes. The main body, not the chisel may be impacted, resulting in breakage, so the tool needs to be handled with care.  ▲ Close
