They are mainly made of steel materials such as SS400 and S45C, or of high hardness pre-hardened steel, but some are also made of special stainless steel. In order to maintain hardness and shape, many of them are surface treated with electroless nickel plating, black oxide coating or Tufftride, etc. to prevent wear.
