Electrode blanks are electrodes for manufacturing molds using alloy carbides by means of die sinker EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining). Primary materials include copper tungsten, tough-pitch copper, oxygen-free copper and chrome copper. Copper materials are popular for their affordability; other materials that are available include silver, graphite, and more. In die sinker EDM, electrodes are pushed against the workpiece like a rubber stamp; for this reason, electrode shapes are selected according to the shape of workpiece.
